VisualORTHOPEDICS supports orthopedic practice in both in the inpatient and ambulatory environment, integrating surgical, nursing and clinical information to provide effective decision support, order entry, results reporting and patient care documentation.

VisualORTHOPEDICS eliminates manual, paper-based patient care documentation and order entry and gives anesthesiologists and surgeons a comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative view of their patient’s condition. Each patient record is updated in real time with laboratory and nursing input so that the most current information is always at hand. Documentation templates and content are customized to the charting needs of surgeons, nurses and technical staff. Charts can never be misplaced, and all members of the surgical team have concurrent access to the same information.

Pre-op or post-op orders can be prescribed with just two or three keystrokes. A post-operative-report library is maintained so that time- consuming dictation for routine cases is eliminated using fill-in-the-blank electronic documentation. VisualORTHOPEDICS dynamically reviews all electronic prescriptions and suggests alternative courses of therapy based on local practice standards. The system integrates clinical, laboratory, and demographic input in real time and alerts the surgeon before critical situations develop. Prescriptions for dressings are streamlined to suit individual peri-operative needs. Patient information is available in the O.R. and continuity of care is assured from admission right through to the recovery room and convalescence. At all times, the surgeon’s prescriptions are transmitted directly into the nursing Medication Administration Record and care plan as well as to the hospital pharmacy.
