VisualPEDIATRICS supports the pediatric services of a hospital, handling dosing formats and constraints unique to the specialty, as well as providing effective decision support.

VisualPEDIATRICS eliminates paper-based order entry and gives pediatricians a comprehensive view of their patient’s status. Each patient record is updated in real time with clinical input so that the most current information is always at hand. Charts can never be misplaced, and all members of the healthcare team have concurrent access to the same information.

Mg/kg and mg/m2 dosing schedules conform to pediatric practice and are built into the order entry process. Diagnosis-based order sets can be prescribed with just one keystroke. VisualPEDIATRICS dynamically reviews all prescriptions and suggests alternative courses of therapy based on local practice standards. Clinical signs, diabetic flow sheets, and input and output data contribute information to system decision-support algorithms which alert the pediatrician before critical situations develop. Continuity of care is assured from admission through discharge and beyond, because the information required to care for the patient is always at the fingertips of the healthcare team. The pediatrician’s prescriptions are transmitted directly into the nursing Medication Administration Record and care plan as well as to the hospital pharmacy.
